WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO CLEANING YOUR KITCHEN PROPERLY ?
We never think about it. Or rather, we purposely never think about it. In any case, the top of the cupboards, the refrigerator and the suspensions are real dust nests.
From time to time, climb on a stool and pass a slightly damp microfiber duster to remove all traces of dust.
We also do not forget the top of the credenza, the shelves, the cookbooks and other stored boxes (raclette machine for example!)
And then we suck! On the joints, behind household appliances (large AND small), on the floor of course, on the edges of cupboards, without forgetting the baseboards and the door!
WE ATTACK THE WALLS
A tomato sauce or oil that jumps a little too strong and presto, the walls of the kitchen are covered with splashes. As a result, they dry out and become more discreet and that’s worse !
So regularly we pass a damp sponge to remove all the small stains and dirt that decorate the wall in order to restore clarity to the room.
WE CLEAN THE CUPBOARDS
Once a month, we polish the inside of the cupboards. We remove jars, canned food, cereal or pasta packets to give them a little clean.
Obviously we take the opportunity to throw away everything that is expired or the open boxes of cakes and then we clean the crumbs, traces of oil and dirt with a cloth moistened with water or degreasing spray.
Finally, we do not forget the outside of the cupboards, which we clean with a product adapted to the type of coating (natural wood, acrylic, lacquer, etc.).
WE MAKE THE SMALL APPLIANCES SHINE
If some appliances sleep at the back of your cupboards, others, on the contrary, serve you every day. At the top: your coffee machine, your kettle and your toaster.
To clean them without damaging them, we choose a product descaling agent, preferably formulated without sulfamic acid, and we rub!
WE TACKLE THE BIG APPLIANCES
Oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer… Each of these appliances requires regular and specific cleaning. If we are lucky, part of our appliances can clean themselves.
In this case, you activate the pyrolysis function of your oven and run your dishwasher empty.
Otherwise, we roll up our sleeves and go on the attack : we defrost the refrigerator, we sort through the frozen products, we empty the coffee capsules, we clean the water tray, we completely hollow out the toaster, we clean the joints of the robots, etc. We make sure not to forget any corner!
WE POLISH THE CREDENCE AND THE WORK PLAN
These are perhaps the most important areas to clean. Because we cook there every day and bacteria accumulate there. Better to clean them daily.
A quick wipe with the sponge and hop the kitchen is spot on. Once again, we choose products that are well suited to the surface (granite, stainless steel, tiles, wood, etc.) and we rinse well so as not to leave nasty traces.
And once a month, we go further: we unplug the household appliances, we remove the baskets and everything lying around, we tidy up and clean well in the corners, in the angles, under the toaster, etc.
WE LOOK AT THE COOKING ZONE (PLATE + HOOD)
Grease or sauce stains, without regular cleaning, the cooking plates quickly become dirty. Whether it’s gas, electric or ceramic hobs, it’s all about using the right cleaning products.
In any case, it is better to avoid overly abrasive cleaners and sponges that could scratch or damage the surface. It’s fast and effective so we rub regularly which will also allow your devices to stay alive longer !
Finally, don’t forget to spray a few sprays of degreasing or multi-purpose spray on the hood, it will suck much better and it’s much cleaner!
WE MAKE YOUR SINK SHINE
If you want to keep the shine of your sink, it is better to wash it every day. With a little soapy water or a few sprays of multi-purpose spray, you can rid the tank of traces of water and limescale deposits.
If some stains are stubborn, be careful not to damage the coating by using products that are too corrosive. From time to time, we counter the bad odors that come up with a product suitable for cleaning the pipes.
